What does being for everyone mean? Today our culture teaches that being for everyone requires an individual to be inclusive, accepting of all people with various backgrounds, preferences, beliefs, emotional states, etc. Our culture tells us that being for everyone requires us to drop the concepts of "right & wrong" and "truth" for the sake of "tolerance" and "inclusiveness." The result in the end is the conviction of having no conviction at all.
What if being for everyone was different? What if instead of blindly accepting people in the name of "tolerance" and saying that everything was okay, we actually were for everyone in the sense of meeting people where they are at in their daily lives? And if we took it a step further, what if being for everyone meant that we could provide people with hope in a world that is otherwise hopeless through a solid foundation of love and truth? What if we could welcome people into an environment where convictions were held in the highest regard, yet that individual did not feel condemned or judged? Is this even possible?
We believe it is and trust that CRU lives this out. Regardless of who you are - ethnicity, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, physical well-being, emotional well-being - we want you to know that as Jesus loved, we as His people seek to love as He has. Although we do not stray from our convictions, we believe that because of Jesus we are not hindered from loving others and meeting you where you are at in your life; instead we welcome you with open arms and are able to love you the way God has always intended. In this reality we truly believe that CRU is for everyone.
